Wireless alarm systems will use 800 MHz, 900 MHz, 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz, depending upon the cost of the system. All of these frequencies are generally safe to use near children.

The atmosphere is filled with enormous levels of radiant energy in all spectrums of radio frequency. At the power levels received by people, they are relatively harmless.

The only exceptions to this are children with pacemakers, implanted defibillators and/or other implanted electronic medical devices. In these cases, radio frequency interference can cause signal induction into such devices and cause malfunctions. Realize that, while most implanted medical electronics are specifically shielded agains common-use radio spectrum, these things are not perfect.

There are so many radio waves flying through the air that the few additional (probably 2.4 or 4.8 ghz) waves are negligent. Figure you have televisions, cordless phones, cell phones, wireless internet, microwaves, radio waves and many many more already there
